Hanks Anuku is a legendary Nollywood actor, producer, entrepreneur and television personality. He always stars in action thriller movies. He is considered to be one of the highest paid actors in Nigeria, one of the highest performing actors in Nigeria and also one of the most influential and talented actors in Nigeria. He is always known for playing the role of criminal, villain and hitman in movies.

In several Nollywood action thrillers, he always plays the role of a criminal, gunman, warrior, palace guard, presidential agent, terrorist and leader of a campus fraternity. He has been in the industry for over two decades and is considered one of the pioneers of the Nigerian film industry, popularly known as Nollywood.

He was born on August 27, 1960 in Ibadan in the state of Oyo in south-western Nigeria. He is currently 59 years old. He is currently married and has beautiful children. He is popularly known for his criminal and evil roles in films. He’s been dubbed as the grittiest Nollywood star. He is originally from Ibadan, Oyo State in southwestern Nigeria, where he completed his basic education. Hanks Anuku is a popular Nollywood actor who is known as the bad boy of Nollywood. Hanks Anuku completed his primary education in Ibadan, Oyo State, South West Nigeria and received his first school leaving certificate. After completing his primary education, Hanks Anuku attended Loyola College in Ibadan, Oyo State, South West Nigeria, where he earned his West African Senior School Certificate. He is popularly known as Senator or Jangle worldwide due to his role in the Nollywood blockbuster film King of the Jungle.

Already in elementary and secondary school he was actively involved in school theatre, stage theater and performing arts. He joined his school’s drama club and performed on stage at several occasions, ceremonies and events. After completing his secondary education, Hanks Anuku transferred to Auchi Polytechnic in Auchi, Edo State, southern Nigeria, graduating in 1981 with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication. After completing his college education, Hanks Anuku relocated to the United States of America to pursue greens and willows.

After spending so many years in the United States of America, Hanks Anuku returned to Nigeria and joined the Nigerian film industry popularly known as Nollywood in early 2000 and starred in his first film, The Skeleton, a film , which gave him an edge in Nollywood and attracted him to film producers and directors in Nigeria. In 2003, Hanks Anuku rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood political action thriller The Senator, a film that earned him an award for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

Hanks Anuku acted in a few Hollywood films in the United States of America before moving to Nigeria. He was introduced to the Nigerian film industry popularly known as Nollywood by Regina Askia and his first film was The Skeleton, a film which gave him an advantage in Nollywood and also attracted him to film directors and producers in Nigeria. Hanks Anuku rose to prominence after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster The Senator, an action political thriller in which he played the role of an aspiring senator who uses tricks to defeat his opponents.

This year, rumors spread across Nigeria and Ghana that the gangster actor is dead, but during an interview with the media, Hanks Anuku debunked the rumors that I’m not dead, I’m still alive. Unfortunately, Hanks Anuku renounced his citizenship in Nigeria and is now a certified citizen of Ghana.
