She is originally from Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She completed her primary education in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria and earned her First School Leaving Certificate. She then completed her secondary education in Lagos State, Nigeria and earned her West African Senior School Certificate. Already during her school days she was actively involved in acting, theater and performing arts.

After completing her primary and secondary education, Kate Henshaw went to the University of Calabar in Cross River State, Nigeria, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Microbiology. After completing her university education, Kate Henshaw went to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and completed her course in Medical Lab Science, automatically becoming a Medical Lab Scientist. Kate Henshaw has worked at Bauchi State General Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and Specialty Assistant. She later realizes that her dream and ambitions are in acting and she decides to try her skills in acting. She began attending film auditions in Lagos and began appearing in television series and films as a supporting character.
