We are excited to open a Managing Editor (US Market) role for our Readwrite website. The Managing Editor will Direct, manage, edit and write necessary content across a specific time zone – ensuring all required work to meet the team’s goals is accomplished.
The role will be creating both informational and commercial content to add value to Readwrite.
Main Purpose
The Managing Editor will be responsible for ideating and creating news and informational content across tech verticals, including but not limited to blockchain technology and video games. This will primarily involve directing content workflows during the U.S. Eastern time zone. They will report directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
Primary Task
- Identity, assign, edit and write multiple pieces of content daily that meet editorial standards for accuracy, clarity, and style
- Assume responsibility for all content production during the US timezone
- Lead the timezone’s team through effective guidance and support
- Create brief daily reports
- Assist in team-building and recruitment efforts
- Assist in the development of editorial strategy and execution
- Work with the SEO team to ensure that all content is optimized for search engines and social media platforms
- Report and analyze the performance of the produced content, and implement strategy changes where needed
- Monitor industry trends and news to ensure that the editorial team is producing content that is timely and relevant
- Ensure that all content produced is compliant with relevant laws and regulations
